25: Reclaiming Creativity as Part of Our Healing with Sofia Mendoza, LCSW

Today on ‘Licensed Psychologist, Now What? Podcast’ I have the honor and privilege to introduce Sofia Mendoza, LCSW @mendingrootstherapy. Sofia Mendoza is a bilingual LCSW in Long Beach, CA. She is also the author and creator of the Mending Roots Coping Guides Collection – mental health themed activity workbooks, reflection journals, coloring books, and stationary. I had the honor to have Sofia as one of my mentees in Rooted and Rising, and as part of Reclaiming My Voice and Roots, the recent healing retreat that I co-facilitated.

On today's episode, we talked about her journey in finding her creativity and her gifts, and how she's able to incorporate it in her personal and family life and as a therapist. Sofia also shared how she uses her creativity in her healing journey as a form of self-care, how it helps stay grounded, and how she's able to reclaim joy in the process. If you or knows anyone who wants to explore more their creative side, this episode is for you.
