is a 75-mins monthly virtual group that will focus on open discussion about our collective healing journey. *Nuestro means Ours in English. The themes will emerge from the check-ins. Dr. Lydiana Garcia will facilitate group discussions about the theme and provide guidance on practices to help foster continued healing.
When: These will happen mostly on the 1st Fridays of the month. The group will meet via Zoom at 11:30 am - 12:45 pm Pacific Time Zone.
You can attend once, or as many as you want.
Some of the practices will include:
- movement and somatic-based,
- journaling questions and reflections,
- creative arts, and mindfulness
Investment: The investment is $45. The groups will be a minimum of 5 participants to a maximum of 10. If the minimum is not met, the group will be canceled and those that already paid will be refunded.
A sliding scale of $35 is also available, on an “honors” system, meaning we trust you to be truthful and honest with your assessment regarding what you can pay.
Trauma Therapy Consultations
this is a monthly 1.5 hrs consultation open group in which Dr. Garcia will provide consultations on trauma-related cases. This group does not substitute clinical supervision, please consult with your supervisor for any recommendations provided in the group; if applicable.
When: These will happen mostly on the 2nd Friday of the month. The group will meet 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Pacific Time Zone
The group agenda will include discussing cases and answering general questions about trauma-informed approaches and overall techniques. Dr. Garcia’s trauma knowledge and experience come from over 13 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families impacted by trauma.
Dr. Garcia has been trained in the following trauma-informed models:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,
- Trauma Resiliency Model Level I & II,
- Seeking Safety, Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS),
- Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I.
She also integrates the following approaches:
- expressive arts (received a certificate from UCLArts and Healing in Socio-Emotional Arts),
- movement (danced for a large part of her life),
- meaning-making via spiritual principles,
- energy work (has a certificate in Pranic Healing),
- and having fun (she values the importance of reclaiming joy after trauma).
Dr. Garcia has worked with clients dealing with the following traumas: childhood abuse (mostly sexual abuse, neglect, physical abuse), exposure to domestic violence, being removed from the home and placed in the foster care system, immigration-related traumas, rape, overcoming oppression, exploring intergenerational trauma, and more.
